Challenge:

Grand Canyon University sought to enhance the educational experience for its nursing and health care students by integrating medical simulation labs. The objective was to improve student outcomes through the use of recorded simulations for critique, self-reflective review, and professional portfolio inclusion. The university needed a robust system to record and manage these simulation sessions, enabling students to practice and improve their skills effectively. ‍

Solution:

IDS was chosen to design, install, and maintain the simulation labs using a VBrick Video streaming and recording solution, complemented by AV room design and integration. This setup included strategically placed cameras, microphones, and speakers in each lab to facilitate a high-fidelity simulation experience. AMX touch panels were installed to control the systems, allowing students and facilitators to manage recordings and interactions seamlessly. The recordings are stored on VBrick Portal servers, providing easy access for review and evaluation.
