Contra Costa County
Challenge:
The Contra Costa County Administration building in Martinez, California, needed a modern audiovisual system for their new four-story building, featuring a large assembly chamber, offices, conference rooms, and workstations. The key requirements were efficiency, ease of use, and high adoption rates among the County staff. Wayne Tilley, Deputy Director of IT at Contra Costa County, emphasized the importance of integrating remote working functionality and ensuring compatibility with various collaboration software like Teams, Zoom, and Google Meet to create a seamless and versatile user experience.
Solution:
IDS collaborated with Contra Costa County to design and implement an advanced audiovisual system featuring Avocor display devices. These platform-agnostic devices allowed seamless switching between different collaboration programs without the need for multiple devices. The integration with the Crestron control system further enhanced the utility of the system. The project, which began in January 2020, proved timely as it supported the County’s shift to a hybrid approach during the pandemic, enabling remote and in-person participation in council sessions. The system, featuring Avocor’s F Series products, provided flexibility and efficiency, transforming the County’s executive meeting spaces, conference rooms, and lecture halls into collaborative environments.
