Challenge:

The Hamilton County Clerk of Courts department, recognized for its early adoption of technology, aimed to upgrade their video conferencing solution to better serve the evolving needs of their court system. According to Cathy Hightower, Executive Secretary for Hamilton County, they were looking for "a state-of-the-art system, one that would replace our old system with updated functions and be easy to use."

Solution:

Hamilton County partnered with IDS to implement a high-definition video conferencing solution from Lifesize, which was already established as the state standard in Indiana. IDS not only deployed the Lifesize system but also provided comprehensive training for courtroom personnel to ensure autonomous operation, eliminating the need for IT involvement in daily use. This upgrade seamlessly integrated with their existing audio archival system, ensuring consistent recording and storage of audio from both courtroom and jail locations in a unified format. The new system significantly enhanced safety and security by reducing inmate transportation to court, receiving positive feedback from judges and courtroom personnel for its high-definition video quality and intuitive user interface.
